The Second Chakra – Svadhisthana

I AM CREATIVE

The second chakra is the foundation of the emotional body and influences our ability to feel emotions, sensations and to let go of our emotions. It is our source of creativity and inspiration. Also known as the sacral chakra or sexual chakra, the second chakra is located in the lower abdomen in the area of the womb and involves change. The consciousness of this chakra derives from flow, duality, and the attraction of opposites.

The second chakra influences our sexuality and sensuality, physical force, sexual and ardent love, open-mindedness, and our ability to yield and cooperate amiably with other people. This chakra physically influences the lower abdomen, spleen, liver, bladder, kidneys, sexual organs, reproduction and fertility.

When the sacral chakra is balanced, we feel healthy, open, friendly, imaginative and creative which helps us to focus on our objectives. This chakra encourages intuition, energy and success. This can manifest as:

•Ability to initiate

•Empathy with others

•Generosity and willingness to share

•Genuine intimacy

•Mutually empowering relationships

•Passion for life

When this chakra is unbalanced/blocked, it can manifest as:

•Exhibitionism

•Inadequacy

•Shallow relationships

•Emotional problems or sexual guilt

•Excesses in food, sex and drugs

If this chakra is not working properly it creates negative influences, such as bladder infections, impotence or frigidity and problems with the reproductive organs and fertility. If this chakra has too much energy moving through it, we may become self-centered and too ambitious, jealous, distrusting and cold. If too little energy is flowing then we may become shy, hyper-sensitive, untrusting, confused, uncertain, with a growing feeling of aimlessness to our life.

Aids in unblocking and balancing the Sacral Chakra: 
We can help to balance this chakra by dancing, laughing and having a good time with our friends. The person centered in this chakra needs the freedom to be creative. They will tend to indulge their desires.

Dear Dear Friends...........just back from a very sweet SE Asian experience. Jakarta, Bali and Singapore. I was blessed to teach at the first Jakarta Yoga Festival and it was amazing. Everyone was so open, excited and grateful to attend the festival. About 500 yogis attended and much was shared and enjoyed by all. Bali was blissful and so beautiful as always. It is the most creative, artistic and wonder-full place for me. There are endless expressions of beauty and possibilities there. I had a week long holyday with Bruce(hubby)in a stunning villa overlooking the lush verdant green rice paddies, daily massages:):):),many moments of just being!!! Then my old home Singapore. Just 2 days but saw so many special friends and taught class to so many of my first students. All very special and heart warming!

Now home and waiting for all my 4 "birdies"(sons) to return to the Nest for year end celebrations together!!! Feeling so so happy that we can all come together again. When I see the boys all together it just reminds me of the incredible speed of time these days. So guys, stay present, fully in the moment so you don't miss a precious moment.

Wishing each and every one of you a sweet, sacred and joy-filled year end. May all your gatherings, reunions, parties and practices this time of year be infused with Peace, Light and Love..................Rebecca

Heart Song Circle with Kevin James

Just back from a magical retreat in Kyushu... which I will share with you later.

In the meantime, I'm very happy to announce that I will be hosting Kevin James' Heart Song Circle at my home on Tuesday, November 30 from 7pm.

Weaving ancient Mantra’s from various traditions with his own heartsong, Kevin James’ anthemic songs are an effective platform to dissolve the ego, reconnect to the heart and co-create a positive vibration for the world. Kevin draws upon influences from traditional Indian Kirtan, Celtic and Sufi chants and world music , with his own wisdom and a deep understanding of universal truths.

Kevin creates a free and open sacred space where everyone is encouraged to express themselves through Sacred song and spontaneous dance.

Kevin and his partner Mel have spent the last 2 years touring Asia where their music has been well received. Featuring at the Bali Spirit Festival and the Asia Yoga conference in Hong Kong last year. They have held workshops and retreats in Taiwan, Japan, Kuala Lumpur and Indonesia, with the response being so overwhelming that they have been invited back once again for 2011.
